Good afternoon! First things first, I would like to let everyone know that both Flutter and Eden will be at The Portland Bazaar, an event I am extremely excited about. It will be held this Saturday and Sunday at Sandbox Studio and will feature DIY workshops, great local food carts, delicious spirits, and a huge selection of some of the best local and national shops/designers. It’s going to be fabulous, I know it. See you there?
And now, a Flutter gift guide. These are my picks from our online shop (which are also available in the store.) Next week I’ll share my gift picks available only in the brick & mortar shop, for all our lovely Portland locals.

…at Flutter! When I walked into work on Sunday morning, I was truly astounded by just how great the store looked all ready for the holidays. Everything is all sparkly, with bowls of ornaments, mossy coverings, shimmery garlands, and sweet smells all around. I must say, it put me in an instant good mood. I wanted to pour a cup of nog and sing along to Bing Crosby’s ‘White Christmas’.
Of course, I snapped photos a’plenty. This weekend, I plan to bring in one of my old cameras and some black & white film and go picture crazy. But for now, some phone photographs of tree trimmings and ornaments in the shop that make my heart melt and holiday spirit rise…
Happy Holidays, darlings!
Snow! What a beautiful way to start out the year. I hope it sticks, I hope it lasts. I just looked up the weather for Portland, and it said it was cloudy and 46 degrees, maybe going to rain for a few days.. yeah, the wooly snowflakes tumbling out of the sky are telling me a different story. It’s funny how the weather people are wrong when they predict snow, and wrong when they don’t. I don’t mean to complain, because I really like the surprise of it. I love it love it love it. Happy New Year!! I hope next year is your best year yet!
Oh, the holidays! Weather. We have had SNOW. Real snow. There is nothing like snow to take you back to childhood. All of a sudden, celebrating and decorating and present giving is fun again. The cold brisk air puts a spring in your step. And then there are the old holiday shows on TV. Oh, childhood comes rushing back and I am now 8 years old again. The Grinch! All of those old stop animation shows with the Heat Miser! Burger Meister Meister Burger! The Abominable Snowman! Rudolph! Oh….and my favorite cartoon of all time A Charlie Brown Christmas. The music is in my permanent collection of Christmas music, well it’s actually the only one. All of the Peanuts dancing to Vince Guaraldi’s music is just the most fun ever. And then, Christmas Time is Here is my all time favorite X-Mas song ever. Here’s the video, just for you dear readers. A little gift of simpler childish days, enjoy.
And don’t forget there are still 6 days to shop at Flutter!
